The Phoenix Returns

Let’s say that the Phoenicians coined the mythical story of the Phoenix, and that “phoe” as seen in the names “Phoebe” and “Phoebus” means bright. As the story goes the Phoenix iz a mythical bird of great beauty fabled to live 500 or 600 years in the Arabian wilderness. This bird lays itself down on a funeral pyre and rises from its ashes in the freshness of youth to live through another cycle of years. The Phoenix has symbolized immortality and the experience of being re-born.

The rise and fall of the Phoenix could depict any recurring cycle. We can see a rise and fall in the four seasons, a 28-day Moon cycle, a 24-hour day and even in an 11 year solar max cycle. A re-birthing cycle iz a natural occurrence that iz continually described by the actions of our Sun, Moon and Earth. The human cycle of sleep iz also directly connected with the story of rebirth. Out of the ashes of our dreams we are re-born each day, if we allow ourselves to flow in the pulsations of cosmic life.

There iz an immortal one in each who lives life as a Phoenix. If we will it so, we can become aware of the continuously changing cycle of the “Bright-nix”, the Phoenix. We know that in life there are cycles within cycles; therefore, there are Phoenixes within Phoenixes.

In old legends from ancient cultures throughout the world there are stories of “shape shifters”. These people were versed in changing how they perceived their worlds, thereby changing how they conceived them. The shape shifter’s power and knowledge to do this, even today, comes from the science of magic focused by the Phoenix.

With all the esoteric madness moving through the airwaves today that iz taking humanity through its past and into its future on a new wavelength, the Phoenix returns as a core stable central character worth our attention. If we truly wish to be born anew in the freshness of youth, let us learn to lay our lives down in the funeral pyres when the cycles come around and to always soar to new heights when the time iz right. The Phoenix naturally moves in these rhythms.

To know the Phoenix iz to be the Phoenix.
To be the Phoenix iz to ride the fire’s Light,
in either direction of its flight,
with sure confident sight.
